Khanmigo

Khanmigo is Khan Academy's AI tutor. It is an AI homework helper and teaching assistant built by the education nonprofit for students, families and teachers.

The main difference from a general chatbot like ChatGPT is that Khanmigo does not simply hand over answers.

It guides learners toward the answer themselves, asking questions and keeping at it with, as Khan Academy puts it, limitless patience.

That makes it a better fit for studying than for copying out finished work.

Khanmigo works with Khan Academy's content library, which covers math, humanities, coding, social studies and more, so the help stays on topic.

Safety and learning are described as the design priorities for students.

Teachers get a separate set of uses.

Khanmigo can draft lesson plans, quiz questions, hooks, exit tickets and rubrics, and it can help with differentiation and student groupings.

These are the tasks that normally eat hours of prep time.

If your week is full of that kind of busy work, the teacher side is where Khanmigo is most likely to pay off.
