Karla

Turning a pile of press releases, notes and emails into a readable article is slow work, and Karla takes a first pass at it for you.

Karla is an AI text editor for journalists that turns raw information into structured articles using large language models.

It also connects to news feeds, so incoming material can feed straight into the writing process.

The main idea is that the LLM queries run in the background.

You do not have to write or tune prompts to get a draft.

You supply the source material, and Karla produces a structured piece you can then edit like any other text.

For a newsroom short on time, that removes a step that many AI writing tools leave to the user.

Karla describes itself as a proof of concept for AI-powered content creation, so think of it as an experiment in journalistic automation rather than a finished newsroom system.

As with any generated draft, a reporter still needs to check facts and sourcing before anything is published.
