For now GenSearch connects to only two search sources, Google Programmable Search Engine and Semantic Scholar, so the quality of your answers depends on what those sources return for your content.

API access and data-driven insights are planned but still under development, which means GenSearch is best treated today as a build-it-yourself search chatbot.

It makes the most sense for academic search, or for site-specific search where Google Programmable Search Engine already indexes what you need.
