You press a keyboard shortcut, talk, and the words show up at the cursor in whatever text field is open on your Mac.

Spoke is a macOS speech-to-text app that transcribes your voice on-device using a local speech recognition model running through CoreML, so your audio stays on your machine.

The shortcut can be changed, and the app is built natively for macOS instead of wrapping a web page.

A second layer called AI Skills lets you run a transcription through translation, grammar correction or summarization before it lands in your document.

Skills use your own API keys, with providers such as OpenAI and Anthropic supported, or local models through Ollama.

If privacy is why you want a dictation tool, that setup matters: you decide whether any text leaves the Mac at all, and the Ollama route keeps even the processing step on your own hardware.
