Claude Code gets a proper workspace in spacecake.

This open-source desktop app pairs a Notion-style markdown editor with an integrated Ghostty terminal, so you can write specs and run the agent in the same window instead of switching between a text editor and a shell.

As a desktop AI code assistant interface, spacecake is made for spec-driven development.

The editor is WYSIWYG, and you can draw Mermaid diagrams directly in your documents.

A status bar shows context window usage and costs as you work, which helps when a long agent session starts getting expensive.

A live task panel tracks what the agent is doing at the moment.

You can also define custom project rules in JSON to keep coding conventions consistent across sessions. spacecake is built around Claude Code specifically, so it makes the most sense if that is already your agent of choice.
