Songbird

As AI news readers go, Songbird is distinguished by how much it does to the feed before you see it. Songbird is an AI news reader that personalizes your stories, summarizes them, sorts them into categories, and tries to remove bias and spam along the way.

The aim is a shorter, tidier pass through the day's headlines.

The de-biasing and de-spamming is the main hook.

Many news apps stop at sorting and recommending, while Songbird also filters the material itself.

That comes with a catch.

Because AI picks which stories reach you, you are trusting its selection, and you may have to give some feedback before the personalization matches your interests.

Categories help when you only want certain topics, since you can jump straight to them instead of scrolling one long stream.

Songbird is also tagged for text-to-speech and AI reading, so listening to stories may be part of the experience.

It is handy for you if you want software to do the first pass on the news and you are comfortable checking its choices now and then.
