Socratic

Socratic has no pricing in its details, so the main thing it hands you is an explanation: snap a photo of a homework question and you get an answer, a worked solution for math problems, a written explanation and related videos.

Socratic is a Google AI-powered homework helper app that helps students get unstuck on schoolwork in subjects such as Science, Math, Literature and Social Studies.

The app uses text recognition and speech recognition to read your question, then pulls up the learning resources that match it.

That includes visual explanations of key concepts, which is handy when a paragraph of text does not make an idea click.

You can also ask by voice instead of typing.

Socratic fits best when you are stuck on a specific problem and want to see how it is solved, not just the final number.

Because it covers several school subjects in a single place, you do not need a separate math solver and a separate study site for each class.
