Root Vocab

Language learners who keep a running list of new words and want something better than a notes app will find a fit in Root Vocab.

Root Vocab is a vocabulary tracker and AI flashcard maker that stores the words you meet, drills them with flashcards and games, and shows your progress in a statistics panel.

It is built around language learning, with AI help for things like word maps and essays.

The free Beginner plan gives you one deck, unlimited words, unlimited flashcard practice, unlimited word maps and essays, the full statistics panel, one milestone and 500 AI tokens.

That deck limit is the main catch, so if you study more than one language or topic you will probably hit it quickly.

The Starter plan removes the cap on decks, raises the AI allowance to 2000 tokens a month and adds more milestones.

The Premium plan has unlimited AI usage.

Paid plans are billed monthly.

For casual study, the free tier is enough to find out whether the flashcard and tracking approach suits you.
