As an AI inpainting and object replacement tool, ReplaceAnything differs from a plain eraser in one way: it keeps the identity of an object you specify and generates new content around it.

ReplaceAnything is an AI image editing tool that swaps elements inside a photo instead of just removing them.

The use cases are replacing a person, replacing clothing and replacing a background, so one page covers what would otherwise take a clothing generator, a background generator and an object remover.

The framework was developed by researchers at the Institute for Intelligent Computing, Alibaba Group, and it relies on AIGC techniques to produce the new content.
