Quillminds

Quillminds has a free plan, which is the place to start if you are a student testing an academic writing assistant.

The free tier gives you 5 documents, 50 citations, 2 citation styles, 20 AI credits a month and basic export.

Quillminds is an AI academic writing tool for students and researchers, and it also covers essay writing, outlines, thesis generation and research support.

The free limits are tight.

Twenty AI credits will not last through a long paper, so heavier users will probably look at the paid plans.

Pro costs $12.99 a month and removes the caps on documents and AI credits.

It raises citations to 500 and styles to 5, and it adds version history, an AI chat assistant and advanced export.

Enterprise costs $49.99 a month.

It adds unlimited citations, every citation style, full export, priority support and team collaboration, so it suits a lab, a class or a writing group more than a single student.
