Prompt Selector

Select text on any web page, pick a prompt, and Prompt Selector sends that text to ChatGPT and shows you the result.

Prompt Selector is a browser extension and AI prompt tool that runs custom ChatGPT prompts on whatever you highlight, using your own OpenAI API key rather than a separate subscription.

The prompts you set up cover the usual jobs: grammar correction, summarizing a long passage, translating a paragraph, or turning an article into a social media post.

Because you write the prompts yourself, you can adjust the wording until the output matches how you work, instead of accepting a fixed set of buttons.

The extension also describes itself as tracking-free, and it replaces several single-purpose writing and translation tools with one.

The extension itself is free.

The catch is that you need an OpenAI API key, and the API usage on that key is billed by OpenAI.

If you already have a key and write or read a lot in the browser, it fits neatly into that routine.
