Journi

As audio travel guides go, Journi is distinctive because its tours are narrated by locals rather than studio voices.

Journi is a smartphone audio tour platform: you pick a city tour, open the interactive map of must-see attractions, and listen to each story as you walk at your own pace.

The platform also works for the people who make the tours.

Local guides get a tour creation toolbox for building GPS-based audio tours, publishing them, connecting with travelers and earning from them.

Travelers browse those tours in a marketplace of audio guides, so what you find depends on what guides have created for a given place.

The appeal is plain.

You skip the group schedule and the guide's pace, and you hear places described by people who know them.

If you want a tour for one neighborhood or interest, the marketplace is the first place to look.

If you know your own city well, Journi gives you a way to turn that knowledge into income.
