Instyll

Writing up lecture notes with a LaTeX formula, a small table and a diagram in one document is the kind of job Instyll handles.

Instyll is a markdown note-taking app that adds an AI assistant, code and LaTeX autocomplete, and tools for embedding diagrams and building tables.

That mix suits students, developers and anyone who writes technical notes.

The AI assistant gives explanations and tips while you write, though its capabilities may be limited, so treat it as a helper and not a replacement for your own checking.

Notes are organized with topics, which keeps related pages grouped without much fuss.

A split screen view lets you keep a reference open next to the note you are writing, which helps when you are pulling from another resource.

Instyll also supports Zaps, but they need some initial setup and customization before they do anything useful.

One catch: you should be comfortable with markdown syntax, since the app is built around it.

If you already write in markdown, Instyll fits that habit and adds the extras on top.
