grokipedia

Automated fact-checking with timestamps is the feature that sets Grokipedia apart from a plain article generator.

Grokipedia is an AI-generated online encyclopedia from xAI that produces a large body of articles quickly and covers a range of topics comparable to Wikipedia's.

It presents itself as a truthful, independent alternative, with a minimalist interface.

The catch is how it is run.

Control is centralized, so the ideological positioning stays consistent, and reviewers have observed factual errors and partisan framing on contentious subjects.

Early articles leaned heavily on Wikipedia source text.

You cannot edit anything as a reader, there is no community governance, and the public can see little of the AI's edit history.

Fact-checking done by an AI on its own output needs human oversight to be trusted, and multimedia was sparse at launch.

See Grokipedia as a reference to cross-check, not a final authority.
