Effie

As AI writing assistants go, Effie stands apart by putting structure first. Effie is a writing app that combines a minimalist, distraction-free editor with mind mapping and outlining, so you can lay out a piece before you draft it.

That order of work is the main difference from a plain text editor.

An AI assistant sits inside the editor to help with writing efficiency, and the tags point to rewriting, summarizing, outline generation, text generation and translation.

Effie syncs across platforms, so a draft started on one device is waiting on the next.

Formatting uses Markdown, which keeps the screen clean but means you will need to learn the syntax if you have never used it.

When the draft is finished, Effie exports to several formats.

The pricing model is free.

If you want a quiet place to organize ideas first and write them up second, Effie fits that way of working well.
