Dippy

On the web at unhinged.ai, Dippy is an AI companion chatbot platform where you chat with millions of AI characters that message you first instead of waiting for a prompt.

Messaging is unlimited, and the service is free to use.

Roleplay is the main draw.

Dippy supports extended roleplay scenarios, and you can build your own characters rather than only picking from what others have made.

The catalog covers several kinds of companions, including AI girlfriend and AI boyfriend characters, and it is tagged for NSFW content, so it is meant for adults.

Dippy also describes its characters as having perfect memory, which matters if you want a conversation to carry on across sessions.

The free model has a trade-off.

The site uses cookies to personalize advertisements and analyze web traffic, so expect some tracking in exchange for not paying.

If you want a casual character chat app without a subscription, Dippy is easy to try, and the sheer number of characters means you are unlikely to run out of options to browse.
