Chippy

Copying text into a separate ChatGPT tab, then pasting the answer back, gets old fast. Chippy is a browser extension that puts ChatGPT inside the page you are already on, so you can ask questions, summarize, translate or draft text without switching tabs.

It works as an AI assistant for research, writing, email and coding questions, and the input methods are simple.

You get a limited number of free daily queries using GPT-3.5, and you do not need an account to start.

If you want more queries or access to GPT-4, Chippy requires your own OpenAI API key, so heavier use means paying OpenAI for usage.

Chippy stores data locally, which is a point in its favor if you care about privacy.

The catch is browser support.

Chippy currently runs only on Chrome and Chromium-based browsers, so Firefox and Safari users are out of luck.
